ARTIST STATEMENT

“Depictions of Noise”

Images grip us human beings. After all, eyesight is our most highly adapted sense; what we see is our greatest infatuation. Images can evoke emotions, memories, and experiences. Our sights can summon our other senses, by conjuring a reminder of a taste or a smell, or calling to mind a touch or sound. These artworks are inspired by sounds. The alternative media incorporated here includes recycled and found objects, otherwise unwanted.

Sounds are waves, reverberations through the air, much like the waves that comprise the light which enables us to see. Certain frequencies of light or sound heal, while others hurt. Vibrations are omnipresent, and all living beings radiate their own measurable frequency.
